Pomfret Rava fry

Pomfret Rava fry is the epic dish of seafood. A fresh pomfret with slits and marinated with masalas, shallow fried is simply divine. Just to keep on record for future gen to refer I am posting the recipe.

Ingredients:

Pomfret medium size – clean and slitted. Ginger garlic paste 1tsp, chilli powder 1tsp, turmeric 1/2 tsp, coriander cumin powder 1tsp, salt to taste. Pulp of tamarind 1tsp. Egg beaten 1/2. Rice flour and semolina 1/4 cup each. Oil for frying.

Method:

Marinate the pomfret with ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander cumin powder, salt to taste, tamarind pulp. Make sure to apply the Masala in each slit and inside cavity of the pomfret. Add the beaten egg and rub it with the masala. Place it on the bed of rice flour and semolina. Pat it and press it firmly, dust the excess and shallow fry, 2-3 mins on high flame with lid on and another 5-6 mins without the lid on medium flame.

Garnish with coriander leaves and wedges of lemon.
