Goda paplet kalwan

Standard

Goda paplet kalwan, I learnt from my husband’s aunt. There came a phase when my daughter as a toddler refused to eat anything. During one of her visit, she suggested me this recipe. A very simple curry to be eaten with rice. Hope you too like it, coz since then it’s our favourite comfort meal. Subtle flavours of garlic and coconut accompanied with piping hot soft mushy rice. Here’s my take on the recipe.

Ingredients:

4 Pomfret medium size clean and cut into 2 pieces. Garlic peeled and crushed 2tabsp, turmeric 1tsp, salt to taste. Juice of 1lemon. Coconut milk 200ml. Coriander for garnish and ghee 2 tabsp.

Method:

Marinate the Pomfret with salt and turmeric. Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan, add garlic and let it release the flavour on medium flame for 2/3mins. Add coconut milk and mix well, add 1/2 to 1 cup of water. Let it boil. Bring the curry to a consistency as per your taste. I prefer little thick. Add the marinated fish, mix well and keep the lid on, flame low and let it poach till tender. Squeeze the juice of lemon and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot rice.
