Green Peas Curry

Green peas curry is an authentic Maharashtrian style called  Vatanyachi Bhaji. I make it on days when we follow a vegetarian diet.

Ingredients:

Fresh green peas 1 bowl. Green Masala – fresh coconut 2 tabsp, green chillies 2 to 3, garlic 2 -3 cloves, fresh coriander chopped 3 to 4 tabsp and juice of half lemon. Tampering – Mustard seeds, cumin seeds 1/2 tsp each, curry leaves 8 to 10 and asafoetida 1/4 tsp. Turmeric powder 1 tsp and salt to taste. Oil 2 tabsp.

Method:

Grind the green masala into thick coarse paste. Heat oil in a pan and tamper it with curry leaves, mustard and cumin seeds and asafoetida. Now add the green masala and saute for 2 mins. Add turmeric powder and peas. Salt to taste and a cup of water. Let it cook till tender. Serve hot with rotis or rice.

Moong Chilla – Mung pancake

whole mung chillas are one of the best option to enjoy while one wants to cut down on carbs, during the weight loss program. It is one of the healthiest option to include in your diet.

Ingredients:

Whole mung soaked overnite and sprouted, green chillies 3, ginger paste 1 tsp, turmeric powder 1/2 tsp, cumin seeds powder 1 tsp, salt to taste and oil 1 tabsp.

Method:

Grind all the above mixture with some water to make it into a runny batter. On a nonstick flat pan make small pancakes (Chillas) drizzling few drops of oil.
